This is the story of my life. I describe my journey through ten years of Catholic school where beatings and brainwashing were the norm, my survival in a good Catholic family whom I believe were mentally ill, getting drafted during the Vietnam war and fighting there as a Marine for one year, during which 95% of my Company were either killed or wounded, coming back to a chaotic America determined to make something of my life. I describe the terrible effects of PTSD and how I finally conquered it after 30 years of psycho-therapy and medications. It is a story of utter desolation and ultimate redemption. I want to demonstrate that no matter how far down we go, we can still rise up and redeem ourselves.
